(Photo by Thaweeporn Sukkhasem)PHRAE -- A 71-year-old man died in a fire that destroyed three two-story houses, built of teak above a concrete lower story, in Sung Men district of this northern province early on Monday. Pol Capt Pradit Thinson, duty officer at Sung Men police station, said the fire started in a house at Moo 1 village in tambon Don Mun about 1am. The flames quickly spread to two adjacent teak houses. Eleven fire trucks and crews from Sung Men, Rong Kat, Sop Sai and Don Mun municipalities were able to put out the fire in about an hour, but by then all three houses were burned down.
